Hundreds of thousand of products are sold each day on the internet. It's not by accident. Purveyors of wares need affiliates to promote their products and get the word out. That's where you come in. Earn income while you sleep! You earn cash whenever you make a sale! If there is one thing I learned in this business, it's that LOYALTY speaks volumes. There are a thousand other websites out there and you will get distracted. You will need a system so you know where you left off. On this site, start at the bottom of the lists and work your way up. I always add the newest sites 1st so that way you'll be sure and get them all. One thing is for sure, you will need a lot of patience. Building a web-based business is sort of like raising a child. It takes a very long time, and you seldom see any changes overnight, but after a while, you should receive a check in the mail and then two, and gradually it picks up. Another way that you can build your business, which pays off much quicker, is if you already have a website which has built up reasonable traffic over time. You can select only those niche programs which closely identify with the topic of your site. This method works very well and I've made a lot of money over the years that way. There are a lot of conglomerates like YNOT, Sex Webmasters etc., around, that really make no claims about what they offer. Most offer chat rooms and the like. What I have found that very few of these sights actually deliver me any benefit. I find that I hardly get an ounce of traffic from them, and most won't allow you to promote your site on their chat boards either. Us little guys need to stick together. After you have your domain set up, come back here and add your site to this domain. Then start poking around a bit to see what I'm doing. There's lots of little clues in here. I'll try some things, and if it doesn't work, I'll change it. The material is always changing, being added to and evolving. You can get started making money by signing up to their programs referring traffic to these web sites. Before you do however, you'll need a domain name, and a place to host your site. While there are many free hosting services available, most of them either have pop-up ads, or some similarly annoying mechanism designed to skim your traffic away from you. Not only does is it look unprofessional, but costs you in terms of sales. Moreover, it takes months to properly seed your website so that the search engines pick it up. You don't want to have to lose all the goodwill that you built up, over months of hard work and effort, by changing providers mid-stream. One of the most economical service providers I have found is Webair. Others can be found here. They have fast servers and allow adult content. You can also register your domain name with them, which will save you money. Don't expect that your web site will start paying off right away. It takes quite a while before anyone even knows it exists. Plan on having a few minor up-front costs before you'll earn any income - and be patient. Nothing in life comes easy. Persistence nearly always pays off. Having said that, if you offer up some good content on your website, that people enjoy, serving up selective banners relevant to your visitors will usually pay off. SOFTWAREInitially you will want to keep your costs down as it may take a while before your site starts to generate any income at all. I use WeBuilder 2006, which is a phenomenal software and a bargain! It out performs many other softwares costing hundreds of dollars. If you don't want to fork out any money right now you may wish to start out with something like Arachnophilia. It has some good features and is free. It doesn't insert any code into your document, so the coding is pure, and only uploads the files which have been changed. I used it for years until I discovered Webuilder. You may also wish to have in your arsenal, an FTP file transfer utility. This is useful for deleting unwanted files from your domain. I use Cute FTP. There is all sorts of free software available at Nonags. I visit their site whenever I'm looking for new software. Build your site on your home computer before spending the money on your domain. Since you'll probably pay for a year or two up-front for your domain, You'll want to be fairly happy with it's design and layout prior to having the clock ticking on your domain. Once you think you have enough content (Even a single page with interesting content will suffice), then go on to the next step. Try and design your site on paper first. Making changes after the structure is implemented can be extremely time consuming, so you won't want to do it very often! CHOOSING A DOMAIN NAMESelect a domain name which sounds catchy and is easily remembered. It should be short and to the point. Search engines like domain names which include a couple of your favorite search terms, but you'll have to be creative because there are plenty of people that have a connection to reserve all the best expired names (Did I tell you that a lot of people don't have the staying power to keep going)? and use them to advertise their own wares until someone is willing to pay a handsome price for them. By that time, they' traffic volume has dropped down to nil and you may as well find one of your own. Develop a good record keeping system. You'll need to keep track of all your passwords which of course will all be different. Otherwise, anyone reading your source code, could theoretically guess your password if you've signed up for their content. I use Maximizer because it's fast, but it does have a high learning curve. You may wish to start using a binder with A-Z tabs, or excel spreadsheet even. Keep a back up of them if you can, and keep track of all the URL's to get to their control consoles for your codes. Your list should be searchable and sortable! This will be your "bible". If you move around a lot, I'd also suggest that you get a post office box or have the funds wire transferred into your account. Otherwise you'll have to change your profile in each of your registrations, so they'll know where to send the money. In a perfect world, they'd email you when your check came back, but I know a lot of "ISP's" that would just as soon disconnect your domain than have have to call you when your account is overdue, and I suspect it might be the same with content providers. Since their margins are a little better, they might be inclined to do that but don't count on it! 07-07-06 - Be wary of sights that promise you traffic. What I've found is that they can deliver a tremendous amount of it, until they take the "NEW" label off, and that lasts for about two to seven days. Be sure to have your site built to your extreme benefit before you submit it. Save the best for last - It will pay off. Figure out where your traffic is coming from. Sometimes your ISP (Intenet Service Provider) will be able to give you detailed stats. More often then not, you're best to rid your site of their banners and links after that because you'll seldom get a hit from them. There is a lot of scammers out there and as soon as they start to cost you more in skimmin your traffic, get rid of them. I believe that Top-lists are the best because you get good honest traffic back, but non the less, keep your eye on them. There are a lot of predators out there that LOVE to use you to promote their wares, Be smarter than them. Cut them off as soon as they quit delivering! |
